The troublesome original release, named for the problematic first brew day which hugely emphasised its hop bitterness. It's matured and evolved nicely over the years. Big tropical hop flavour from local varieties with strong bitterness from an English hop to honour its origins, all balanced by plenty of malt.

When the cliché was coined that dogs are humanity's best friends, it was a Greyhound they had in mind. Whether your plans involve a run or a rest, a greyhound is up for joining in. Parrotdog dedicated their low carb hazy pale ale to them, and kept it fittingly lean and easy-go-ing, with sparkling citrus hop characters, good balance, and a crisp finish.

An ongoing series of occasional one off releases inspired by the nice ideas captured in Parrotdog's Lyall Bay Brewery. Limited Release 38 is a Hazy IPA brewed with real passionfruit and hopped with tropical hop varieties Strata and Nelson Sauvin, showcasing juicy passionfruit, tropical and slight dank characters on a pale and hazy base beer, with a cleansing passionfruit acidity to finish.

Rich and indulgent, it delivers layers of coconut and chocolate over a smooth malt base, with a balanced sweetness and a velvety finish.

The raptor family includes a surprisingly diverse collection of birds of prey and their kin, and stretches to include some of their fiercer ancestors from the land before time. Pale Ale can feel like a similarly broad category, but this one is very much of the more assertive kind. Deep gold with piercing piney bitterness and citrus hop flavours, it's a throwback to the relatively recent past. A Bright deep gold beer with Orange, grapefruit & pine aroma. 2024 NZ Brewers Guild Trophy winning Pilsner. If the sky is clear and cool, and you're very lucky, you might witness a sundog: apparitions that accompany the true sun, an atmospheric trick of light and ice. Parrotdog's own Sundog, a Pilsner starring the vivid passionfruit and white wine notes of New Zealand hops, is much easier to find, but just as crisp and bright.

Bright and lively like a parrot, but small and ubiquitous like a sparrow, the Yellowhammer adds a flash of colour and a musical chirp to open spaces all over the country. The way it does a lot with just a little inspires this smooth and refreshing hazy pale ale, streaked with the striking tropical notes of Strata hops.
